Job Summary:

SMS Equipment Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Supervisor to lead our team in the safe, efficient, and economical operation of our branch. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for implementing safety protocols, guidelines, and training programs to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Safety: Actively care for the health, safety, and general wellbeing of team members. Support team members through active monitoring of decisions and actions, and ensure alignment with the corporate safety strategy, vision, and values.
  • Safety Protocols and Training: Collaborate with or share ownership of safety with team members by asking for their active participation in safety decision-making and empowering everyone on the team to take personal responsibility for safety. Implement safety protocols, guidelines, and training programs to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operations and Customer Service: Ensure efficient execution of service repair and maintenance by providing necessary resources, tools, and guidance to HET's. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with customers to address concerns and resolve issues promptly.
  • Qualifications and Requirements:
    • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the heavy equipment industry.
    • Journeyperson level certification in a relevant trade is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, protocols, and best practices.
    • Strong understanding of service and branch processes.
    • Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and influence outcomes.
    • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
