Job Description

This is a permanent position with 40-60 hours of work per week, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Valid Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate
  • At least some experience in the trucking industry, preferably as a long haul driver
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures
  • Physically demanding job requiring prolonged periods of sitting, repetitive tasks, and heavy lifting

In this role, you will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, operating and driving straight or articulated trucks, and ensuring the safe transportation of cargo. You will also oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, and ensure all aspects of the vehicle are well-maintained. Additionally, you will receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and tarp and secure cargo to prevent damage and ensure safety.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • You will spend most of your time on the road, driving and interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • The job requires excellent judgment, flexibility, and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Steel-toed safety boots are required for the job.
