About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to lead the development and implementation of a Provincial Quality Assurance program for Diagnostic Imaging departments. As a key member of the Department of Medical Physics, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in Diagnostic Imaging across the province.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of funded research in Diagnostic Imaging physics and will be responsible for designing and implementing the QA program, working closely with Zone Diagnostic Imaging Directors to ensure that DI equipment meets quality and safety standards. The position will be based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with travel to support sites throughout the province expected.

About You

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with a Master's in Medical Physics, Doctorate preferred, and certification by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (MCCPM) or the American Board of Radiology (DABR). A strong track record of funded research in Diagnostic Imaging physics is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Additional desired qualifications include an active research portfolio with a history of grant funding, a recent history of impactful publications in Diagnostic Imaging physics, and experience in commercialization of technologies, including invention, patenting, and licensing or spin-out of new ventures.

Hours and Compensation

The position is permanent, full-time, with 75 hours bi-weekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
