Job Summary

As a key member of our team, the Account Manager Construction Solutions will be responsible for generating revenue growth by utilizing a consultative selling approach in the retention of current Waste Management customers. This role requires strong negotiation efforts to preserve business, securing contract agreements from previously non-contracted customers, and handling all customer cancellation requests. The Account Manager will also provide ongoing education of contract details to existing customers and obtain customer contract commitments during face-to-face interactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage business-to-business sales relationships, developing detailed proposals encompassing multiple services.
  • Research aspects of the waste and environmental services business, staying current with industry-and market-related information.
  • Attend conferences/symposiums as a means of networking and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Assignment management, building trusting relationships, and providing high-impact communication.
  • Identify pertinent Local, County, State, and/or Federal government regulations and analyze and solve problems.
  • Prospect and close to achieve budgeted sales goals, developing and implementing sound selling strategies that ensure revenue growth by selling to new customers only.
  • Manage prospects by developing sound marketing plans and maintaining key information in the prospect database.
  • Reduce lost major accounts by diffusing cancellation requests, meeting or exceeding sales call activity goals for proactive account revenue and profitability.
  • Match Waste Management services with customer needs, demonstrating knowledge of customers, pricing, and competition.
  • Effectively use Waste Management sales productivity software tools, proposing customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Devising sales approaches and solutions, marshalling resources, and sales negotiation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4-years sales experience.
  • Experience: 1 year work experience (in addition to education requirement) in direct business-to-business sales, and phone-based business-to-business prospecting resulting in successfully obtaining customer appointments.

Work Environment

This role is a Work from home (WFH) position that requires travel (client visits) across Calgary Area. Candidates need to be physically in Calgary in order to be considered.
