Job Summary

As a key member of the Waste Management team, the Account Manager Construction Solutions will be responsible for generating revenue growth by utilizing a consultative selling approach in the retention of current customers. This role will involve managing existing business relationships to achieve budgeted sales goals by developing and implementing sound retention strategies, utilizing strong negotiation efforts to preserve business, and securing contract agreements from previously non-contracted customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage business-to-business sales relationships to achieve revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop detailed proposals encompassing multiple services to meet customer needs.
  • Research aspects of the waste and environmental services business to stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments.
  • Attend conferences and symposiums to network and stay current with industry-and market-related information.
  • Assign and manage sales tasks to ensure effective sales execution.
  • Build trusting relationships with customers to drive sales growth and customer loyalty.
  • Provide high-impact communication to customers to ensure effective sales execution.
  • Identify and respond to customer objections to close sales deals.
  • Understand and comply with local, county, state, and federal government regulations related to waste management.
  • Prospect and close sales deals to achieve budgeted sales goals.
  • Manage prospects by developing sound marketing plans and maintaining key information in the prospect database.
  • Reduce lost major accounts by diffusing cancellation requests and meeting or exceeding sales call activity goals.
  • Match Waste Management services with customer needs by demonstrating knowledge of customers, pricing, and competition.
  • Effectively use Waste Management sales productivity software tools to manage sales activities.
  • Propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Devising sales approaches and solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Marshalling resources to support sales activities.
  • Sales negotiation to close deals.
  • Sales opportunity analysis to identify new business opportunities.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4-years sales experience in direct business-to-business sales, and phone-based business-to-business prospecting resulting in successfully obtaining customer appointments. The candidate should also have strong negotiation skills, ability to convert customer cancellation requests, and comprehensive understanding of the construction industry.

Work Environment

This is a work-from-home (WFH) role that requires travel (client visits) across Calgary Area. The candidate must be physically in Calgary to be considered. The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000, and the position is eligible for commissions.
