Patient Flow Manager

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership to multi-disciplinary teams within a patient-centred, collaborative practice model for patient care units, and to manage the movement of patients throughout the sites.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively and consultatively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, physicians' offices, community partners, and service providers to address challenges and achieve the ultimate goal of high quality, safe and cost effective services to better support the patient experience/outcome, and to better support patient flow.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A degree in a health-related field, with a Master's degree being an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in nursing or other allied health profession.
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate level computer skills, including MS Office, Patient Flow Tableau system, and SharePoint.
  • A strong understanding of bed management, utilization and patient flow methodologies as they relate throughout the continuum of care.
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills to investigate and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated evidence of innovative leadership and critical thinking, with proven ability to foster a collaborative team approach to decision making.
  • Understanding of continuous quality improvement tools and methodologies as it relates to system thinking.
  • Strong process knowledge and process thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and engage others within an inter-professional practice environment.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.

The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $57.05 per hour.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
