Heavy Equipment Shop Supervisor

Tomlinson is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Heavy Equipment Shop. As a Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising staff, addressing customer concerns, and collaborating with Parts and Administrative Clerks to ensure seamless ordering and work order completion. Your primary focus will be on maintaining a safe and productive work environment, adhering to safety procedures and standards, and promoting a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating a strong safety behavior and leadership skills
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organized repair shop and yard
  • Schedule tasks efficiently for technicians
  • Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Supervise daily operations, setting priorities and goals
  • Optimize floor space to maximize productivity
  • Ensure high-quality repairs are completed
  • Liaise with Manager of Garages and other operations personnel on repair status and scope
  • Create and review work orders

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced indoor and outdoor environment
  • Monday to Friday schedule, with flexibility for extra hours as needed
  • Garage hours of operation: 6:00am - 5:00pm

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a heavy equipment maintenance environment
  • Knowledge of the Health & Safety Act within the Industrial Field
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong attendance and punctuality
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to operate equipment (asset)
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Planning and organizational skills
