We are seeking a skilled Forest Industries Technician to join our team and contribute to the success of our operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Woodroom process, including managing the unloading, storage, and feeding of logs, operating the debarking line, and overseeing chip pile management.

This role involves using various equipment such as a Portal Yard Crane, Tracked Cat, Wheeled Loader, and Butt n Top, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and equipment is maintained regularly.

The ideal candidate will have high school diploma or equivalent, experience in a pulp mill environment, and the ability to work at heights and operate heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of Forest equipment, including conveyors, drum debarkers, and large mobile machinery.
  • Continuously monitor Forest processes using control panels, adjusting variables to optimize chip quality and meet production targets.
  • Perform start-up and shutdown procedures for Forest processes as required, ensuring minimal disruption and safety compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must obtain a valid class 5 driver's license or equivalent.
  • Experience in a pulp mill environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work at heights and develop competency to operate all equipment.
