We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Services Counsellor to join our team at Nova Scotia Community College. As a key member of our Student Services department, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering our diverse student body.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one counselling to students navigating personal challenges, academic concerns, and career decisions.
- Refer students to other services and resources within the college or in the community, as appropriate.
- Lead and support critical incidents involving the entire campus community.
- Promote health and wellness initiatives and participate in organizing campus events and activities.
- Master's degree in Clinical Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling, or other Master's degree enabling registration with a provincial regulatory body.
- Registration with, or undergoing candidacy process, with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, or Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
- Minimum of five years of post-counselling credential relevant occupational experience counselling adults in various specialties.
- Competency in relation to the unique needs of equity deserving students and ability to apply a structural/anti-oppressive, dignified, and trauma-informed analysis to service delivery.
