About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Recreation Coordinator to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Recreation Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation and leisure programs for residents in our care home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement recreation and leisure programs that meet the needs and interests of residents
  • Supervise Recreation Assistants and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Collaborate with the Recreation Therapist to develop and implement comprehensive therapeutic recreation assessments and interventions
  • Monitor and evaluate program expenditures and provide input to the program budget
  • Ensure a safe environment for residents, families, volunteers, and staff by following established emergency and safety practices and procedures
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized recreational program plus three years' recent, related experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to supervise
  • Ability to organize work
