Job Summary

The Lobby Restaurant and Lounge at the Pier Hotel is seeking an experienced and skilled bartender and lounge server to join our team. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, taking and serving food and beverage orders, and preparing all beverages for the restaurant and private dining areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent guest service in the Lobby Lounge
  • Take and serve food and beverage orders
  • Prepare all beverages for the restaurant and private dining
  • Set up and tear down the bar and lounge tables
  • Record sales accurately in the Micros P.O.S. system
  • Ensure compliance with provincial liquor regulations and legislation
  • Work safely at all times
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the Hotel safety program

Requirements

  • Must have a valid "Serving It Right" certificate
  • Previous experience as a server and bartender (minimum 1 year)
  • Ability to handle high volumes of business
  • WSET and/or mixology certifications considered assets
  • Must be well self-motivated, responsible, and organized
  • Have excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands

  • Lifting - under 20 lbs
  • Carrying - over 20 lbs
  • Pulling - over 20 lbs - bending, standing, reaching, and kneeling
