We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at William Osler Health System. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the analysis and interpretation of laboratory results.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance and support to laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure accurate and reliable laboratory results.
- Collaborate with peers and supervisors to develop and implement technical procedures and protocols.
- Participate in the development and review of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Provide input to staff performance appraisals and contribute to the development of staff training programs.
- Monitor and report on laboratory performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including those related to quality management and patient safety.
- Participate in the investigation and resolution of laboratory-related incidents and errors.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with laboratory staff, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Graduate of an accredited medical laboratory technology program or equivalent education.
- Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
- Minimum three years of experience as a laboratory technologist, with a strong background in quality management and technical leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality and patient safety.
