About the Role

CareerBeacon is seeking a highly skilled Relief Shift Engineer to join our team in the steam plant operations department. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant's equipment and engineering systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on steam plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor and control process parameters to ensure safe and efficient operation of the steam plant.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and plant personnel to ensure seamless operation of the steam plant and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in steam plant operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of college CEGEP, vocational or technical training in Industrial Mechanics, Refrigeration, Millwright, Welder, etc.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting steam boilers, with a strong background in refrigeration and/or combustion equipment.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a 3rd Class Power Engineer license, Compressed Gas Licence - Class M Refrigeration Maintainer, and Fired Heating Licence.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and experience with control systems or CMMS Maintenance are considered assets.
