About the Role:

  • This position is responsible for overseeing freight and transportation services provided to existing and future clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services. As a central point of contact, you will handle all freight, transportation, cartage, or delivery matters.
  • You will engage with existing clients to understand their inbound and outbound freight and transportation needs, including sourcing and selling various transportation services such as FTL, LTL, Cartage, Parcel, Drayage, Rail Cargo, Air freight, and Ocean freight.
  • Develop a dynamic program for buy-side and sell-side transactions, integrating the transportation program with the company's existing 3PL service offering.
  • Ensure transportation partners are selected based on service needs and comply with all current legislation, permits, and enforcement programs.
  • Utilize analytical skills to gather and summarize data, manage pricing programs, establish tariff processes, and client rate tables, as well as monitor and update fuel surcharges.
  • Oversee rates and quotes, inspect the billing process, and negotiate rates and services with various service providers at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Train existing CSR and Business Development representatives to utilize the programs, promoting the solution to clients, and provide overall leadership in areas of operational performance, customer, and vendor relations.
  • Actively sell transportation and freight services, representing the company in securing business for all other 3PL warehousing services.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding and/or transportation management.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management/supervisory role.
  • Strong analytical ability to gather and summarize data, manage pricing programs, establish tariff processes, and client rate tables.
  • Performance-based incentives.
