Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Freight Director to join our management team in Edmonton, AB. This key role will be responsible for freight and transportation services provided to existing and future clients, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of services. As a central escalation point of contact, you will engage with clients to understand their inbound and outbound freight and transportation needs, including sourcing and selling various transportation modes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a dynamic program for buy-side and sell-side transactions, merging transportation services with our existing 3PL offering.
  • Ensure transportation partners are selected to meet service needs and comply with all relevant legislation, permits, and enforcement programs.
  • Manage pricing programs, establish tariff processes, and client rate tables, monitoring and updating fuel surcharges as needed.
  • Negotiate rates and services with various service providers at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Train existing CSR and Business Development representatives to utilize the programs, promoting the solution to clients and providing overall leadership in operational performance, customer, and vendor relations.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding and/or transportation management.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management/supervisory role.
  • Strong analytical ability to gather and summarize data, manage pricing programs, and establish tariff processes.
