Career Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer. As a LPN, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care in our Oncology Clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination by escorting them to the examining room and providing comfort measures.
  • Prepare examining rooms for patient consultations and examinations by checking and laying out clean instruments and supplies.
  • Assist nursing and medical staff with physical examinations by handing and receiving instruments and supplies.
  • Perform various nursing procedures such as catheterizations and sterile dressings, and record observations and report problems to designated staff.
  • Perform clerical duties such as organizing appointment lists and ensuring charts are returned for order processing.
  • Maintain instruments and equipment by cleaning and reporting malfunctioning equipment to the leader.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as providing personal care and nourishments.


Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action.

Location and Hours

This position is located in Kelowna, BC, and hours of work are Monday to Friday, 0730 - 1530, 0800 - 1600, 0830 - 1630, or as operations require.
