About the Role

CAE is seeking a highly experienced Data Platform Manager to lead our data engineering team in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data solutions on modern cloud platforms. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, big data platforms, and data architecture patterns and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Provide strong leadership to the data engineering team.
    • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing and motivated team.
    • Create a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Strategy & Execution
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the evolution of the Data Platform aligned with business goals and objectives.
    • Effectively track, manage, and remediate technical debt as the platform evolves.
  • Process Optimization
    • Drive efficiency and scalability in platform operations.
    • Streamline and optimize data operations and machine learning operations processes.
    • Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
  • Product Development
    • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and prioritize platform features to drive adoption and ensure high internal customer satisfaction.
    • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of data products.
    • Ensure the seamless integration of new technologies and tools into the platform.
  • Technology Oversight
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the platform remains cutting-edge.
    • Maintain a deep technical understanding of the entire data stack.
    • Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • +10 years of experience in leading data platform teams.
  • Proven experience in data engineering, data operations, and machine learning operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Deep technical expertise in data technologies, databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with big data technologies and machine learning frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Deep experience on cloud technologies such as: Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks.
