About the Role

The Server is a key member of our dining team, responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our residents, guests, and the public. As a Server, you will be the face of our community, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dining room for all services, including setting tables, stocking necessary items, and assisting with food and beverage preparation and presentation.
  • Carry out general cleaning duties in the dining room, including clearing and bussing tables, scraping and washing dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere in the dining room, promoting a sense of community and respect among residents, staff, and guests.
  • Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents, and the public.
  • Assist with housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
  • Attend and participate in community and education programs.
  • Respond to resident and building emergencies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a dining room environment is an asset.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
  • Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
  • WHMIS Certificate.
  • Demonstrates collaborative and team working skills.
  • All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate related food service equipment.
  • Must be in good health, physically able to operate food service equipment and tasks related to the position, and free from communicable diseases and allergies or conditions that may be aggravated by working with cleaners, detergents, and equipment.
