Spark Power, a leading provider of end-to-end electrical services, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Protection Specialist to join our team in Alberta. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing programming, testing, and verification of protection and control devices in the field.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform field testing, verification, and programming of various IEDs from manufacturers such as SEL, GE Multilin, GEC Alstom, Siemens, Square D, and ABB.
- Inspect, test, operate, and troubleshoot AC and DC control and protection wiring schematics.
- Read and interpret electrical AC and DC schematics, AC three-line, logic diagrams, and SLDs.
- Understand, plan, and utilize utility and industry-standard lockout procedures.
- Be aligned with safety to protect yourself and team members.
- Travel 70-80% of the time for out-of-town commissioning or maintenance projects.
- 2-5 years of experience in P&C.
- 2-year Electrical Engineering Technology diploma from NAIT or SAIT or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree.
- Registered or eligible to register with ASET or APEGA.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to provide technical leadership.
