Courier Delivery Driver Job Description

Courier Guys is seeking a reliable and skilled Delivery Courier Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Courier Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. You will also operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand
  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
  • Provide customer service and professionalism
  • Accept payment or invoices for items delivered
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Keep a record of items received and delivered
  • Load and unload goods
  • Sort packages for delivery
  • Follow directions and read maps
  • Use maps and other trip planning aids
  • Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

Requirements:

  • Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles)
  • Local, regional, provincial/territorial, and national transportation/travel experience
  • Criminal record check
  • Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, tight deadlines, work under pressure, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, overtime required, walking, and bicycling
