Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement curriculum-related content for multiple elementary classrooms
  • Apply current pedagogy to support student success and achievement
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school as a learning community
  • Design and implement effective strategies to engage and support academic success for all learners
  • Develop and maintain rapport with students, staff, and parents in a welcoming manner
  • Implement trauma-informed practices and support the implementation of school-wide initiatives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education with experience in elementary education
  • Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Excellent verbal, written, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Social-emotional competencies of self-awareness, empathy, flexibility, and relationship-building
  • Commitment to professional learning and collaboration with students, parents, and staff
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with positive behaviour support and school-wide initiatives
  • Training in trauma-informed practices and complex trauma resources
