About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Care Aide to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other healthcare professional to provide patient care and support.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Respond to patient calls and alarms.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with lifting and transferring patients, using mechanical aids as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Grade 10 (including English 10).
- Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
