Job Title: R&D Technician (Sample Coordinator)

Puratos is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented R&D Technician (Sample Coordinator) to join our team in Chilliwack. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a critical role in supporting the business goals by providing external and internal customers with high-quality samples on time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the full sample process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of samples to customers.
  • Create and maintain an inventory of standard range product samples, ensuring accurate tracking and management of samples.
  • Manage shipments and prepare monthly reports on shipping KPIs, including budget, response time, and follow-ups.
  • Support R&D tasks during the product development and adaptation process, as needed.
  • Conduct analytical and application tests on competitive products, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date R&D documentation and utilize CRM to manage samples effectively.
  • Support other R&D initiatives, such as sensory work, consumer tests, and customer support, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Comply with food safety procedures when selecting new materials, developing or modifying products, and preparing samples.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a lab-related field, preferably with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food product development, with a strong understanding of food safety and quality control principles.
  • Working proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications. Experience with SAP and/or CRM is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, and external clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on creating win-win solutions.
  • Excellent safety record and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
