**Research & Development Technician (Sample Coordinator)**

**(Chilliwack)**

The primary role of the R&D Technician (Sample Coordinator) is to support the business goals by providing external and internal customers with the highest quality samples on time as requested. The incumbent will comply with all local and national food safety and legal requirements. All job responsibilities will be performed under the strictest guidelines of food safety standards.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Coordinate the full sample process
- Create/maintain an inventory of standard range product simples
- Manage shipments and make monthly reports on shipping KPIs including budget, response time and follow-ups.
- Support R&D tasks during the product development/adaptation process as needed
- Help maintaining up-to-date R&D documentation, utilize CRM to manage samples.
- Support other R&D initiatives with due guidance, such as sensory work, consumer tests, customer support.
- Comply with food safety procedures upon new material selection, product development or modification and sample preparation.
- Comply with requirements relating to Health and Safety.

**Skills, Education and Experience Requirements**:
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary education - Bachelor’s degree in lab-related practices is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in food product development.
- Strong Communication skills in English in order to communicate effectively with employees, management at all levels, and external clients.
- Ability to communicate one-on-one and in group settings with focus on creating win-win solutions.
- Excellent safety record.
- Reliable - good attendance is essential.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
