About the Role

AFL is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment at construction sites in a safe and effective manner, minimizing the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and understand construction plans
  • Operate heavy equipment, including backhoes, track-hoes, and skid steers
  • Clean, maintain, and secure equipment according to AFL policies and procedures
  • Perform pre-shift inspections, change attachments, lubricate, and refill equipment
  • Report any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment
  • Communicate effectively with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and documentation

Requirements

  • 1+ year of construction experience
  • Experience in Utility Construction - ASSET
  • Ability to understand and work with Utility locates
  • Capable of working in all temperatures and climates and in confined spaces
  • Ability to travel to various site-based projects
