Job Title: Emergency Department Nurse

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Nurse to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of and providing treatment to adult and pediatric patients requiring care in the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' needs and provide treatment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Participate in triage and in-charge responsibilities to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patients' unique needs.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness.

Requirements:

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card upon hire.
  • Previous Emergency Department experience required.
  • Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities required.
  • ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing.
  • Completion of an on-site sponsored course is required within one year of hire date.
  • Successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam would be an asset.
  • Successful completion of post-diploma Emergency courses, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, would be an asset.
  • Basic ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation preferred.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. You will be working in a team environment with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You will be required to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
