About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to join our team at Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our commercial banking team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers and driving business growth through strategic account development and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual business development plans to maximize referrals and identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a network of internal and external referral sources to drive business growth.
  • Work closely with our partners to identify small business clients with personal banking potential.
  • Contribute to growing customer loyalty by delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Engage customers to complete needs assessments and recommend tailored solutions to meet their financial needs.
  • Provide advice and guidance on available digital and self-serve options to make banking easy, simple, and fast.
  • Grow our business by reaching out, generating appointments, and building new relationships within the community.
  • Support the development of business priorities and best practices for execution.
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Break down complex problems and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Address questions and resolve issues raised through consumer credit audits and quality checks.
  • Apply the risk management framework to protect the Bank's assets and maintain the quality of the lending portfolio.
  • Makes credit recommendations for personal lending transactions in accordance with sound credit granting principles.
  • Understand customer needs and integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations.
  • Take the initiative to find creative approaches to make each customer's experience feel personal.
  • Follow through on risk and compliance processes and policies to safeguard our customers' assets.
  • Maintain current knowledge of personal banking products and practices and integrate into customer conversations.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements for the jurisdiction.

Requirements

  • Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
  • Confident and experienced in the use of social media, tablets, and online tools.
  • Previous experience in financial services required.
  • Passionate commitment to helping customers and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
