Quality Assurance Specialist

Tolko Industries is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Meadow Lake OSB Division. As a key player in ensuring our production standards are met and maintained, you will use your keen attention to detail to contribute to process improvements and experimental trials.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with previous experience in laboratory operations and a strong understanding of quality management systems. If you have a post-secondary education in an engineering, science, or technical related discipline, you will be a strong asset to our team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in laboratory operations within an industrial manufacturing environment in a quality assurance/control function.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
  • Post-secondary education in an engineering, science, or technical related discipline.
  • Mechanical aptitude with demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Punctual and detail-oriented, with accurate record-keeping and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in using testing and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures and follow precise work instructions.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in standard computer software, including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).

In this role, you will:

  • Perform mechanical and physical testing on incoming raw materials and finished product according to standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all testing documentation is completed promptly.
  • Properly operate and maintain laboratory equipment and process instrumentation.
  • Work closely with production teams to communicate quality standards and address concerns.
  • Offload bulk chemicals and operate forklifts.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, process instrumentation, and work areas.
