Senior Safety Manager Job Description

Ganotec is a leading heavy industrial contractor serving the industrial sector across Canada. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Safety Manager to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our employees, subcontractors, and consultants on industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and procedures specific to industrial construction projects.
  • Ensure safety protocols align with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and Ganotec's safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and assess safety risks.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents.
  • Ensure timely reporting of all safety incidents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards applicable to industrial construction.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure safety performance on projects.

Qualifications:

  • Education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction safety management, ideally with a focus on industrial projects.
  • Professional certification in safety management preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Quebec regulations, and other relevant safety standards.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
