Senior Manager, Health, Safety, and Environment

At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Health, Safety, and Environment to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing and championing environmental, health, and safety programs for assigned accounts, ensuring ongoing compliance to all internal and external requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage environmental, health, and safety programs and champion a high environmental, health, and safety culture for all assigned accounts.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on assigned accounts relative to environment, health, and safety matters in accordance with all applicable internal and external requirements.
- Lead the implementation of internal HSSE programs for assigned accounts.
- Plan, develop, and deliver HSSE programs in support of the client for all assigned accounts.
- Ensure compliance to client-mandated HSSE programs, ensuring all HSSE SLA's and KPI's are met for assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with account teams to ensure all team members are provided with adequate tools and resources to ensure the safe execution of work.
- Collaborate and Coordinate program implementation and alignment across multiple geographies.
- Reporting responsibilities and regular engagement with senior leadership within the client's organization.
- Takes appropriate action to achieve all targeted HSSE objectives for all assigned accounts.
- Oversee maintenance and BGIS Canada's registration to applicable environment, health, and safety management systems such as ISO 14001, SGAP, COR, CSA Z1000, OHSAS 18001.
- Certification in one or more of the following – Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Certificate in Environmental Management through a Community College or University degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences.
- University degree completed.
- More than 10 years of environmental, health, and safety program execution work experience.
- Expert level knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirements.
- Expert level knowledge of environmental, health, and safety management systems – ISO 14001, CSA Z1000, OHSAS 18001.
- Advanced program management abilities.
- Advanced communication, influence, and persuasion skills.
- Highly advanced ability to champion environmental, health, and safety programs and influence stakeholders to achieve environmental, health, and safety objectives.
- Ability to develop and deliver environmental, health, and safety-related training.
- Skilled at incident investigation and resolution, root cause analysis along with preventative and corrective measure implementation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
