Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing nursing services to patients based on their individual needs. This includes administering medications, conducting specimen collection, and monitoring vital signs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Conduct specimen collection and laboratory tests
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
  • Assist with respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
  • Provide safety and health education to patients and their families
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements:
  • Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse in the province/territory of work
  • Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
Working Conditions:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a nursing home/home for the aged setting, with a fast-paced environment and a large caseload. The successful candidate will be required to stand for extended periods and work under pressure.
