Water Resources Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our team at MPE Engineering Ltd. in Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will work with our water resources team to complete design and project management duties. The position requires a broad range of skills, self-motivation, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

The Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Performing general project engineering duties under the supervision of a Professional Engineer,
  2. Working with the project team to prepare reports, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents,
  3. Completing preliminary engineering studies and assessments, including hydrology modeling, hydraulic modeling, and dam safety,
  4. Completing engineering design, including pumping systems, pipelines, open channel systems, hydraulic structures, earthworks, and concrete and steel design,
  5. Performing construction administration, coordination, and construction supervision duties,
  6. Working closely with clients to ensure their project objectives are met.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University,
  2. Registration or eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan (APEGS),
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills,
  4. Aptitude for general construction methods, and
  5. Experience or knowledge with design software, particularly HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PCSWMM, and WaterCAD.
