Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planner to join our team at the City of Kamloops. This permanent, full-time position is responsible for overseeing transit planning and operations, transportation-related sustainability initiatives, Active Transportation Planning, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a University degree in Planning with a concentration in Transportation or Transit Planning, and a minimum of three years of experience in transportation or transit planning. They will be responsible for developing and implementing transportation plans that promote sustainable and efficient transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transportation plans that promote sustainable and efficient transportation systems
  • Oversee transit planning and operations, including scheduling, routing, and fare collection
  • Develop and implement transportation-related sustainability initiatives, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting alternative modes of transportation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement Active Transportation Planning and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) initiatives

Requirements:

  • University degree in Planning with a concentration in Transportation or Transit Planning
  • Minimum three years of experience in transportation or transit planning
