IT Auditor Job Description

Our client, a leading financial institution in Canada, is seeking an experienced IT Auditor to join their team for a 6-month contract with a possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with 2 days a week spent in the Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audit testing, discuss findings with management, and document work performed.
  • Execute, plan, and report on assigned audit projects.
  • Deliver end-to-end process of audit execution, ensuring testing is appropriate to support objectives, scope, and overall opinion.
  • Review work papers, document internal control weaknesses, and ensure audit results are gathered and reported accordingly.
  • Present audit results and findings to line management.
  • Write audit reports to a consistently high standard and finalize within established department metrics.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of hands-on IT audit experience.
  • Proficient in auditing IT processes, general controls, application, data, third-party, technology controls, and project audits.
  • Proficient in applying risk-based auditing standards, practices, techniques, processes, and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of operations and regulatory environments of audit units globally.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, business, accounting, or related discipline, or equivalent education/experience.
  • CRISC/CPA an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technology Risk Management experience in the financial services industry.
  • Big 4 accounting firms experience (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte).
