Job Summary

Horizon Canada Inc is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join our team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Equipment Installation and Maintenance

Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and associated hardware.

Equipment Repair and Replacement

Repair or replace defective telephone equipment and troubleshoot issues with telecommunications systems.

Network Testing and Analysis

Test installed telephone systems to locate transmission faults and analyze test results to adjust, change, or repair switching systems, networks, and associated equipment and software.

Documentation and Reporting

Complete and maintain test and service reports, and determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble.

Work Environment

As a Telecommunications Technician, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring attention to detail and the ability to distinguish between colors. You will also be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel, and have manual dexterity.

Requirements

To be successful as a Telecommunications Technician, you will require:

  1. Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate
  2. 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in telecommunications
  3. Permanent employment
  4. English as the primary language of work
  5. 37.5 hours of work per week
