Extendicare Countryside is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance departments to achieve high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Supervise departmental staff, including hiring, performance management, and staff development.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including inventory management and control.
- Maintain departmental policy and procedure manuals, and contract tendering in consultation with ECI consultants.
- Ensure all aspects of departmental safety program management, including preventative maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Maintain records, statistics, and reports in accordance with ECI and home policies.
Requirements:
- Environmental services certificate in a recognized program.
- Experience in management of human and financial resources an asset.
- Experience in a long-term care setting, an asset.
- Formal training in building maintenance or Operator B Certificate, an asset.
- Health and safety certification, an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
