Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Database Specialist to join our team at Teknion. As a key member of our Corporate Marketing department, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the product and options architecture in Progress Product Database (PBPM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain the product and options architecture in Progress Product Database (PBPM).
  • Export product data in XML and SIF formats for test catalogs.
  • Test the compiled electronic catalogs in CAP Studio and check the validation logs and compare reports.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to ensure timely receipt of new release information and proper format.
  • Assist Product Managers in analyzing Visio diagrams for all product lines.
  • Ensure database information reflects product requirements, adhering to database rules and restrictions.
  • Create check reports for internal use and other departments.
  • Collaborate with various departments and groups, including Baan, Operations, and PPG.
  • Communicate with Teknion manufacturing groups on database-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain a tracking sheet in Excel for new product launches, accessible by the Product Data Management group.
  • Update and manage product structure diagrams in Box.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Superior working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as relational databases and graphic packages (MS Visio).
  • Good understanding of Internet-related formats and technologies (HTML, XML, XLS) is a definite asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with accuracy in numbers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Programming skills/UI design.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with product configurators.
