Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Database Specialist to join our team at Teknion. As a key member of our Corporate Marketing department, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the product and options architecture in Progress Product Database (PBPM).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the product database architecture to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Export product data in XML and SIF formats for test catalogs and collaborate with Product Managers to ensure timely and accurate information.
  • Test and validate electronic catalogs in CAP Studio and analyze validation logs and compare reports.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to ensure that product information is received on time and in the proper format.
  • Assist Product Managers in analyzing Visio diagrams for all product lines and ensure database information reflects product requirements.
  • Create check reports for internal use and other departments and collaborate with various teams, including Baan, Operations, and PPG.
  • Communicate with Teknion manufacturing groups on database-related issues and maintain a tracking sheet in Excel for new product launches.
  • Update and manage product structure diagrams in Box.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Superior working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as relational databases and graphic packages (MS Visio).
  • Good understanding of Internet-related formats and technologies (HTML, XML, XLS) and basic knowledge of networks.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy with numbers.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and programming skills/UI design.
  • Familiarity with product configurators.
