Sask Sport Accounting Clerks Job Description
This position is responsible for providing day-to-day bookkeeping and basic accounting functions to support the accounting service division. The Accounting Clerk will work as part of the larger client service team, providing a professional, courteous, and efficient service to clients utilizing the accounting services provided by the Administration Centre for Sport, Culture, and Recreation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general accounting duties for the client base
- Process all types of financial transactions, including invoices, bank deposits, cheques, financial statements, CRA, and sales tax remittances, on a timely basis
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and procedures and accounting standards for not-for-profits
- Communicate with clients to collect necessary information for transaction processing
- Maintain filing systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other client information
- Report to the Accounting Services Supervisor regarding process effectiveness and compliance
Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or equivalent education and/or training
- Minimum two years of experience in a role demonstrating the ability to perform the duties required for this position
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with 37.5 hours per week
- Overtime work may be necessary during busy periods
