Sawmill Operator

We are seeking a skilled Sawmill Machine Operator to join our team at Swiftwood Forest Products. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our sawmill equipment to produce high-quality lumber products.
Key Responsibilities:- Examine logs and rough lumber to determine the best cutting plan
- Operate automated lumbermill equipment from control rooms or consoles
- Saw, trim, and plane rough lumber into dressed lumber of various sizes
- Start conveyor systems to move logs and lumber to and from saws
- Monitor logs and lumber movement to ensure cuts are made according to specifications
- Set up and adjust saw equipment
- Replace blades or bands
- Clean and lubricate sawmill equipment
- 2 years of experience in a sawmill or woodworking environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a physically demanding environment
