Job Description

The Senior Buyer role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services for the organization. Key responsibilities include selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing delivery schedules.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials, or business services.
  • Assess requirements and develop specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies to be purchased.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers.


Credentials

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in Business, Materials Management, or a related field. A minimum of three years of experience in procurement functions in a manufacturing environment is required. PMAC certification or equivalent experience is also preferred.

Desired Characteristics

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings. They will also be able to work independently as well as in teams to ensure effective forecasting, product distribution, and marketing.
