Job Title: Carpenter Lead Hand

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Lead Hand to join our team at Appenzell Construction Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary:

The Carpenter Lead Hand will be responsible for overseeing the installation of various construction projects, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of carpentry teams on construction sites
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
  • Plan and schedule work to meet project deadlines and budgets
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and improve workflow
  • Train and mentor junior carpenters to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on project progress and team performance
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in carpentry, with a strong background in supervisory roles
  • Trade certification in carpentry, such as the Carpenter Red Seal Certificate
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
