Job Summary

\

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at Newmont's Porcupine Mine Site in Timmins, ON. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy duty equipment maintenance and repair and will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy equipment.

\

This is a critical role that requires strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team and will have a strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.

\

Key Responsibilities

\
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heavy equipment, using technical manuals and schematics as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing work environment.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established safety procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance activities, including parts used and time spent.

Requirements

\
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy duty equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A) required.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

\

This position is located at Hoyle Pond site, part of Newmont's Porcupine Mine Site near Timmins, ON. A 5x5x4 schedule requires relocation if you do not live nearby.
