Accounting Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team at CB Canada. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process daily invoices and credit memos, and apply cash receipts to the correct accounts.
  • Create statements and reports that require the use of multiple sources, including general ledger accounts and financial statements.
  • Perform general accounting tasks, including general ledger account reconciliation and month-end closing.
  • Support accounts payable by processing vendor invoices and disbursement filing, and matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers.
  • Post financial information to journals and ledgers, and reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement.
  • Code documents using the proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes.
  • Carry out additional related duties and assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements:
  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds.
  • 1+ years of accounting experience required.
  • Adeptness in Bank Deposit and demonstrated knowledge of Bank Deposit.
  • Deep understanding of bank reconciliations and journal entries experience.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred, and candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
