Job Overview

Kiewit is a leading industrial contractor with a strong commitment to quality and excellence. We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our team and support our quality program and projects.

About the Role

The Mechanical Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This will involve conducting inspections and tests, generating quality reports and metrics, and working with construction supervisors and subcontractors to implement the project quality plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections and tests of mechanical work to ensure compliance with project documentation and industry standards.
  • Generate quality reports and metrics to track and improve quality performance.
  • Work with construction supervisors and subcontractors to implement the project quality plan and ensure that all mechanical work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Identify and report any non-conformances or rework issues to the Project Quality Manager.
  • Assist in the documentation and resolution of non-conformances and rework issues.
  • Research and answer technical questions and assist in the interpretation of construction codes and standards.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize them.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or technical degree in Engineering, Science, or similar with at least 2 years' experience in a related construction field.
  • Or an associate degree in engineering technology or science plus three years of experience in a related construction field.
  • Or a high school graduate or equivalent GED with 5 years' experience in the construction field.
  • Certified CWB Level 2 Inspector.
  • Broad working knowledge of the trades, disciplines, and associated special processes, inspection, and testing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the related construction industry codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Ability to facilitate team information and be professional.
  • Strong mathematical abilities and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
  • Capacity to read and understand plans and specifications and visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
