Job Summary

Sam Transport Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Logistics: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Safety: Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of vehicle safety.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Documentation: Accurate completion of accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report, and maintenance and repair reports.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to handle heavy loads, work in a physically demanding environment, and maintain attention to detail.
Work Environment

As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, often away from home for extended periods. You will be required to work 40 to 60 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime.
