Job Summary:

This position involves assessing morbidity through a comprehensive risk evaluation process comprising health, financial, lifestyle, occupation, and personal history within pre-determined authority levels. The incumbent will be working in a full production environment with the mandate of acquiring and maintaining profitable business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional client-focused underwriting service that balances sales objectives with risk tolerance and profitability objectives contributing positively to persistency and reputation in the marketplace.
  • Evaluate and analyze complex data to make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce new business acquisition costs by minimizing department wastage.
  • Maintain quality of underwriting decisions through regular audits.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of Individual Life underwriting experience.
  • Analytical skills to synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and use intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including gathering and analyzing information skillfully.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Motivation to demonstrate persistence and overcome obstacles.
