About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Director to lead our construction services team and manage our construction project portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the construction services team and manage the construction project portfolio
  • Oversee the delivery of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including real estate, procurement, and operations
  • Manage and control construction costs, ensuring they remain within budgetary limits
  • Review and approve project calls for tender and analysis of bid packages
  • Approve the awarding of all mandates and construction contracts
  • Prepare project timelines and schedules for execution
  • Manage the course of projects, document construction work progress, and ensure that work conforms to contractual documents
  • Inspect, monitor, and document construction work progress to ensure compliance with contract documents, quality of work, and adherence to project schedule and timelines

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction project management, ideally in the retail sector
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture, or DEC in these disciplines, or extensive experience in the construction industry at the project management and supervision level
  • Professional certification or active membership in a recognized professional association
  • Mastery of project management techniques and tools
  • Ability to prepare construction cost estimates
  • Proficiency with various software packages, including Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and multitask
