About the Role

The Privacy and Access Council of Canada (PACC-CCAP) is seeking a highly skilled Privacy and Access Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the protection of personal information and upholding the highest standards of data governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Privacy Compliance Programs: Develop and implement comprehensive privacy compliance programs to ensure the organization's adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the protection of personal information and maintain open communication channels.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments: Conduct thorough privacy impact assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Manage Freedom of Information Requests: Manage and respond to Freedom of Information requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and Implement Information Governance Frameworks: Develop and implement information governance frameworks to ensure the organization's data is properly managed and protected.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff on data protection and information governance best practices.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in a privacy and access to information role, including successful implementation and management of cross-functional privacy projects/programs.
  • Certification as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPM, CIPP/C or CIPT) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and the Health Professions Act.
  • Experience with data protection and information governance frameworks and a strong understanding of data protection principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
