Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at Southside Chevrolet Buick GMC. As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing mechanical units, adjusting and repairing parts and components, and performing scheduled maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
  • Test and adjust units to specifications
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Cook and instruct apprentices
  • Provide customer service

Requirements

  • 5 years or more of experience in the automotive industry
  • Area of specialization in engine repair, diesel engines, or major internal engine repairs or overhaul
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Steel-toed safety boots and tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods
